This is different from what my running X server (with some older radeon driver) exhibits currently but as it varies with time I am not sure if that's of any consequence

Under ATi tray tools, forcing v-sync off forces it off unless a program overrides it, which in Arma's case seems to happen (may be wrong) You could try triple buffering (not sure if Arma 2 supports it, but if you put it on and it's still 30fps then it's not likely) or you could try increasing your monitor's refresh rate to 75 (if it's on 75 and you're getting 30fps then it's not likely to be V-Sync as you should be getting 37.5ish, although fraps can sometimes give the wrong readings) ---------- Post added at 10:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 AM ---------- Although it may not even be V-Sync related. BulldogsAug 16 2009, 12:54I mentioned this method to several ATI users and they said that I didn't know what I was talking about, so I just figured that ATI tray tools must no longer have this

BF3, Possible VSYNC trick? No input lag + frame sync (no tearing).

At first I wasn't sure that VSC was even turned on because there was absolutely no mouse lag, the type of input lag that is traditionally associated with VSC. Edit: And when i dont limit the framrate i notices in some areas panning is not smooth (Areas with 70 or 100FPS and anything not a multiple of 30) like it is skipping frames, reminds me of 30FPS in these areas

Advice:If light from somewhere else (sky or other light entities) does not reach the room you want to apply this to,I suggest you add a second light entity that is very dark to make the room look dark but at the same time be able to see where the switch is,or to just create a dark looking room instead of plain black (like I did in the screenshots)

2) The D3D rendering style was very old and outdated 3) Valve wanted to focus on improving OpenGL so much, that it would be as effective as the old D3D (if you have performance issues with OpenGL, please report to Valve's GitHub, so they can adress these issues)

Maintaining a stable number of FPS is fine, but the more FPS you have the smoother the game will play and the quicker your cross-hairs will reset after firing(or moving if dynamic cross-hairs are turned on). Another thing is when people are inside of the building on assault maps, while they are walking along the upper balcony ledge often times you can see their feet protrude through the floor from time to time

HELP!!! My Counter-Strike frame rate is locked at 60 fps and i know that i can run WAY faster!

if you know how many khz your monitor can reach, it wont be a problem - rightclick on the icon taht appears in the taskbar, point to display profiles and select configure... unless your hardware CANNOT give more fps than your refresh rate, i suggest you enable vsync by default and set the maximum hz possible for your monitor

Most common issues 3.1 Content and installing issues If you don't get the new content at all, just backup configs and whatever you need, then delete the cstrike folder. Use 32-bit color depth in Windows.Of course, do make sure that you are using 32-bit color depth in both CS and on the desktop! 3.6 Screen flickering Change your desktop resolution to the refresh rate you want, then problem fixed (alfred-valve)

Think most people cant notice over 30 fps if im correcti dont even notice if it goes under 25Most people wont notice the difference in 60-45fps unless told in modern games, there is small motion blur implemented at all times. As for personal shit, I hardly notice the difference between 50+ in BF3, anything below seems to come with small input lag and turning around becomes choppy.Old games with no motion blur will look totally different when on 60Hz and when on 75Hz screen

I would do that but most D3D games don't have an option for triple buffering, and the Catalyst drivers don't seem to have a registry entry for it either. OTL01-14-2004, 02:17 AMOriginally posted by Bop OTL, if your framerate is 10-30fps lower with it on than you have double buffering on most likely, look for an option to turn triple buffering on

What can I do to prevent this in the future? If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices

There is more to it than just what I wrote here, and there are specific reasons why you want vsync off with double buffer (framrates cut by half), but I think that was enough answer your question. i never crapped on nvidia...you are yet to proved me wrong! you are yet to post up here where i CRAPED ON NVIDIA...ill tell you why because it don't exist...sooo again...
