You can sign up for any frequent flier program you want, even if the airline is not based in your home country or even continent! Programs are open to people worldwide. You can pre-sign up for volunteer opportunities, a lot of schools will hire you for teaching jobs before you arrive, and au pair sites will hire you beforehand but for the most part, the best way to find most jobs travelers can get is to simply go to your destination and look around

When booking my trip, I ended up calling in and getting a really nice customer service rep that used her tricks to nab me a combination of American and British Airways flights from my city to both London and Rome and back, all for under 100,000 miles. Reply franceWa says: July 11, 2012 at 10:40 am I personally am to lazy to deal with all of these airline booking challenges and calling difference 800 numbers, so will be using all of my points to pay for hotel rooms, and just buy the airline tickets myself

Alternatively, there should be no problem for airlines to allow the purchase of an extra seat for a cello, with the same benefits that may come with buying that seat for a person. I would make a formal letter explaining the problem, why you think it is not right, include a copy of the obscene letter you got from Delta and append your trip itinerary and highlight the cost of the tickets then send it to the CFO, CEO, Public Affairs Officer and any other top level person in Delta

Reply Nomadic Matt Link to this comment Just to defend a few points: Shopping malls- I was on the fence about Netflix before, leaning more towards them now that i can use it on my iPhone but the miles cemented it for me. And in addition to miles, most airlines that I fly require some co-pay to redeem the miles for an upgrade, based on the fare you paid for the economy class ticket you purchased

Twenty minutes later the captain came through the cabin, explaining what the problem was, stressed safety, but also added that ground personnel were already looking for hotel room for us for the night, just in case. It seemed fairly obvious to me that its construction was not only a tribute to the great man, but also part of the economic development of the Sandton area of Johannesburg

Award space is excellent in China Airlines new, top-of-the-line Business Class on its 777-300ERs for one passenger and pretty good for two passengers outside of published blackout dates. Either because most of the flat beds are being sold or because the airlines just want to protect the products, award space on these routes is very hard to find

I also would like to hear from the CEO, who should pay for this gentleman's "two seats for life" out of his own pocket. In recent years I've regarded the TSA as the greatest inflictor of pain to air travelers, but their behavior as reported in the article seems to have been exemplary -- so far. Has this NWA merger put them in THAT strong a position? Or is this just some capacity fluke? If the former, DL miles are all but unusable or like some debased currency

Several years ago, I had heard of a few proprietary software programs designed to let you keep track and consolidate your frequent flyer activities on your computer. Purchased awards are almost always confined to business or first class, so brokers don't want to talk to you unless you have at least 50,000 miles to sell

Alternatively, you may purchase your airfare and then contact Capital One afterward to be reimbursed for the cost of your ticket, provided you have enough miles accrued to pay for the ticket.
