Are you sure your server is running? Are you sure you are using the same port on both your client and server? Are you sure you don't have a firewall program blocking access? It seems like you are connecting to the loopback interface or localhost, so you may want to have a look at the sql server logs and whether your attempt actually gets registered there as the TCP IP error is indicative of a network problem. To fix the issue I've tried in order: Restarting borderlands 2 Restarting steam Verifying my game cache: 1 file was corrupt however the new file didn't fix the issue. I really hope port forward is not a requirement for a solution here as many gamers really do not understand how to implement port forward on their home networks, and not all routers are easily configurable

I have tried literally everything I can think of with the router and network configuration on our PCs, I have no idea what else to do and hope there will be some sort of fix released soon.. I have port forwarded (steam ports), tried to open NAT as much as possible (on both of our routers), DMZ'd our PCs, we've tried Hamachi, changing the MTU in our routers (supposedly to open NAT some.) So far I have not been able to connect to him and he has not been able to connect to me
