The best atmosphere is, of course, a place right on the docks.Anyway, I know of a place in Freeport that meets the description, but I wonder if there are any closer to Portland itself

It was also nice to sit at the bar and watch the oysters being shucked.We got a taste of dates stuffed with sharp cheddar cheese and wrapped in bacon...oh my word, they were delightful and maybe the best bacon-wrapped date dish I have had (I always ordered bacon wrapped dates) with the sharp cheddar
