Your recent work will not be lost if you have an up-to-date file backup, or if you have the good fortune to have made an image backup almost immediately before your current troubles began. Or perhaps there should be another topic opened up for fabricating windows from scratch since so many people need to do that, and all this talk about how important it is to keep your windows at all costs is just so discouraging to those of us who have already lost our windows. Im just going to say, you dont need any additional hard disk managing software, you can do the process decribed for the dual boot option with the tools windows gives you. however (sorry this is turning into a q n answer session) when i try to turn the computer on it just turns into a blank black screen after the driver black page

Create an ASCII text file with only the word "Windows " (without the quotes and including the final space after the word "Windows") in it, followed by a new line. It is possible that it does not work - for example, if your vendor has deleted some essential file in the I386 folder (which we will need), your installation may well fail at some crucial point after it has formatted your hard disk! It is also possible that my procedure will not work on your system, or that I made some mistake in describing it here

Richard Mallett says: June 6, 2015 at 7:06 am The only thing stopping me is the prospect of another learning curve (or two) with possibly no gain (or even a potential loss) in functionality. In the past, Windows has had most technical applications for many people, Linux has had ones in software design and perhaps data analysis, Apple in graphics work
